Attendees will have the ability to download handouts, CMS resources will be provided, and a short question and answer period will be entertained at the end of the session.
The Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report (PEPPER) has been available to hospice providers since 2012. The PEPPER is a tool that can be utilized by hospice compliance programs in auditing and monitoring their agencies’ billing activities. As part of a compliance program, a hospice should conduct regular audits to ensure charges for Medicare services are correctly documented and billed. The PEPPER can assist compliance programs by providing specific comparative data for 10 target areas that are vulnerable for fraud and abuse. The detailed PEPPER provides specific billing data per fiscal year, with comparative state, jurisdiction and national data.
Are you still using CMS Form 485 and struggling to meet the certification statement requirements? Join us for a presentation that includes the five required elements for home health eligibility, increase your understanding of the roles of the ordering and certifying physicians and how their documentation supports payment of the home health agency claim and view an example of a complete certification statement.
During this webinar, we will preview the new hospice PEPPER (scheduled for release 4/17/2017), focusing on new reports and how to obtain your PEPPER. We will step through a sample PEPPER to help you understand how the report is put together and how it can be used in support of your program integrity efforts.

During this session we will be reviewing the CMS Contractors that perform medical review audits and provide detailed information on responding to a hospice ADR.
