DHHS Unveils Plan for CFI Managed Care

The NH Department of Health and Human Services released its implementation plan for Step 2 of Medicaid Managed Care. The plan calls for Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) or newly-formed PACE centers to manage all facets of medical care and long term care for Medicaid enrollees eligible for nursing homes or the Choices for Independence program (CFI.) The Plan mostly focuses on MCO implementation, with few details on PACE centers (Programs for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly.)

DHHS will hold a public hearing on the plan on Tuesday, March 20th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the DHHS Auditorium, 29 Hazen Drive in Concord. There is also a 60-day comment period. Comments can be submitted by email to HB553ManagedCarePlanning@dhhs.nh.gov and are due by Noon on Friday, May 4th.

The Association has invited DHHS to send a representative to our April 11 Membership Meeting to discuss the plan. HCANH is also seeking input from members to help inform our written comments. If you’re interested in serving on a CFI Work Group that will meet in late March, email Gina Balkus.
