More for less this winter!

The Home Care Association of New Hampshire is producing five webinars this spring.  From regulatory issues to PT Tool Assessments, we are sure you are going to want to offer all five of these 90 minutes webinars to your staff.  To make it more affordable for you, our members, we are extending a discount to those agencies registering for ALL Five programs by February 15. You certainly can register for each of these separately, but then there would be no savings. 🙁

A short description of each webinar is below. You must register with the above link by 2/15/18 to participate in this promotion. Only the 5 webinars listed above (and detailed below) are eligible for this promotion. Please contact the Home Care Association if you have any questions.

Five Winter Warm Up Webinars

Beyond HIPAA Training : The ABC’s of HIPAA Compliance

Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2:00- 3:30 pm EST

The Office of Civil Rights (OCR) issues fines to HIPAA- covered entities that fail to implement the necessary safeguards to secure protected health information. The Hospice of North Idaho was fined $50,000 for not protecting 441 records. In 2016, North Memorial Health Care of Minnesota paid $1.5 million after a HIPAA audit revealed the organization had not preformed a proper risk assessment. Fines like this could cripple a home care or hospice agency. HIPAA compliance is more than just annual training. This webinar will cover the necessary components for a solid HIPAA Risk Assessment, steps for breach mitigation and reporting and also discuss the proper way to share information with other healthcare providers during an emergency.
1.5 CEU available for each staff member participating in the live or recorded session.

Operational Lessons Learned from a Disaster Plan that Didn’t Work

March 7, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm EST pm EST

This case study will help your agency better prepare for the unthinkable. Hear the experience of an agency that worked with local and regional groups to develop a comprehensive disaster plan only to discover IT DIDN’T WORK!! Emergency preparedness will be a top priority in upcoming surveys. Failure to comply can result in serious financial penalties, or even loss of your agency’s license. Take the steps necessary to create a plan that works.
1.5 CEU available for each staff member participating in the live or recorded session.

Reimagining the Plan of Care: a Pyramid Model

March 22, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm EDT

There are many ways to build a plan of care – but how do you know that the one you are using is effective, comprehensive and will support strong clinical care in the home?
The “Pyramid of Care” uses the comprehensive OASIS assessment you already have as the foundation. Explore the process of identifying critical areas that become the goals of the plan of care, and transform these into skilled interventions. This process will be easy for your clinicians to grasp and implement, will enable them to clearly support skill in each visit, and achieve measurable improvement in the outcome goals attached to each plan.
1.5 CEU available for each staff member participating in the live or recorded session.

Understanding PT & OT Functional Tests: Selecting and Interpreting the Best Assessment Tools For Your Patients

April 5, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:30 EDT

Our webinar last November on de-conditioning and the frail elderly taught by Physical Therapist, Ernest Roy, was so well received we are partnering with him again this April to bring a new topic to your home care therapy staff. Roy will focus on selecting and interpreting the right functional tests and assessment tools for your patients.
There are so many assessment tool options available to home care, but so little time to research them all! Home care physical therapist and educator Ernest Roy has taken the deep dive to provide webinar participants with an evidenced-based review of tests suitable for field use by Physical and Occupational Therapists. Roy will focus on data norms for specific populations, as well as highlight minimal clinically important differences as well as specificity and sensitivity. Utilize the data you collect from intake to discharge, and improve your functional testing efficacy.

There is no limit to the number of  Therapy staff who can participate live or view the recording and earn the 1.5 CEU.  This program has also been submitted to the New Hampshire Physical Therapy Association for their endorsement.  Truly, this is an excellent value and opportunity.

Reducing Hospital Readmissions

May 9, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm EDT

Hospitalization is extremely expensive, accounting for one third of the $2 trillion in total annual health spending in the U.S. last year. Perhaps surprisingly, as many as one in nine hospital admissions is a re-hospitalization – when a patient is readmitted to hospital within 30 days. For the elderly, re-hospitalization can be traumatizing, yet it might be avoidable. Learn proactive solutions to improve your readmission rates using the PDSA approach.

1.5 CEU available for each staff member participating in the live or recorded session.
