Granite State Home Health & Hospice has two registered lobbyists in New Hampshire who monitor legislation at the State House and direct lobbying activities. A Legislative Committee, comprised of member volunteers, reviews proposed legislation and recommends positions on individuals bills. Members have access to an online advocacy network.
The Association is guided by Policy Statements that are developed by the Legislative Committee and approved each year by the Board of Directors. Topics include: agency and professional licensure, advance directives, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and regulation, employment issues and others. The Committee meets once or twice a month from January to June. Any member can participate. Email Gina Balkus is you’d like to participate on the legislative committee.
The Association maintains an excellent rapport with our Congressional Delegation and staff through regular visits to Washington, DC and in-state meetings. We collaborate with the National Association for Home Health and Hospice (NAHC) and the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA.)
