NGS Reminds Providers of Annual User Recertification

CMS requires National Government Systems (NGS) to conduct an annual recertification of all current Medicare online system users for the Direct Data Entry (DDE) and durable medical equipment (DME) Claim Status Inquiry (CSI) systems. Access codes were scheduled to be sent to all active users last week, March 9 through March 13, to complete the recertification process. Every user that has an active User/Login ID prior to December 31, 2014 must complete the recertification. Users that were assigned a user ID or had their ID reinstated after December 31, 2014 will not need to recertify until the 2016 recertification period. The recertification pertains only to a user’s NGS user ID.

Several self-service tools will be offered to assist users in checking the status of their recertification, requesting information via email, and receiving answers to inquiries.
