CMS to Hold Calls on Prospective Payment System and Quality of Patient Care Star Rating

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will hold two important phone calls next week.

The first event is the Home Health Grouping Model Technical Report Call on January 18, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM Eastern time. Last month, December 2016, the CMS published the Medicare Home Health (HH) Prospective Payment System (PPS): Case-Mix Methodology Refinements technical report, including an overview of the Home Health Groupings Model (HHGM). This technical report described efforts to reassess the current HH PPS and develop large-scale payment methodology changes. Prior to the call, participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the report. During the call on Wednesday the 18th of January, CMS experts will introduce the HHGM model. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

This slide presentation of the HH PPS should be valuable to anyone taking part in the call and home health agency providers generally.

Please note that an audio recording and transcript of the call will not be available until approximately two weeks after the event, so participating in the call is recommended for anyone wanting the most timely information.

The second CMS call next week is on the Home Health Quality of Patient Care Star Rating Call on the 19th of January from 1:30 to 3:00 PM Eastern time. During this call you will learn about proposed changes to the Home Health Quality of Patient Care star rating on Home Health Compare based on stakeholder and technical expert panel feedback, overview of the current calculation algorithm, proposed changes, and potential roll-out plans. A question and answer session follows the presentation.
