Successful advocacy is all about building good government relationships. Now is the time to start.
Here are some ideas:
- Send a letter, email or make a phone call to your newly-elected NH State Senator(s) congratulating them on their election or re-election. Offer to be a resource on home health, hospice or palliative care issues. If your agency is in a rural area with a small number of House members, consider contacting them too.
- Consider inviting a State Senator to a board meeting to discuss health care.
- Set a date for a legislative event, such as a breakfast meeting at your agency. January or early February is a good time. The Association can help you plan it!
