Survey Shows Hundreds of Vacancies and Higher Turnover

Twenty-three member agencies reported 431 full-time equivalent staff vacancies as of December 31, 2018. The data was collected as part of the Alliance’s 2019 HR Metrics Survey, conducted by Patrick Miller, MPH, of Affiliate Member Helms & Company.The annual Turnover Rate for calendar year 2018 was 30% — more than double the 13% annual vacancy rate that agencies reported in a 2016 survey. The turnover rate was highest among personal care service providers (48%) and homemakers (51%.) The Alliance is using data as part of its advocacy efforts for more state investment in workforce and Medicaid reimbursement rates. Click here for report summary.
