Our top legislative priority is to get a meaningful increase in payment rates for the Choices for Independence program and other Medicaid services. As an association, we have been actively meeting with key legislators, working with other stakeholders and speaking out at public hearings. Earlier this week, Jim Culhane from Lake Sunapee Regional VNA, Dottie Gove from Waypoint, and Amy Moore from Ascentria In-Home Care testified at state budget hearings.
The next two to three weeks will be critical for the state budget. That’s where you and your colleagues come in. We need to generate as many contacts as possible with members of the Senate Finance Committee, along with public awareness of the problem and solution. This can be phone calls, letters, emails, op-eds and letters to local papers, and spreading the message on social media.
Please share the Call to Action with your team, including trustees and staff. If possible, encourage your CFI clients or families to participate too. The more people speak out, the more we will be heard!
Thank you in advance for your advocacy!
