Update on COVID testing and State Guidance

From: Health Facilities Licensing:

In attempt to respond to questions and concerns received on Friday regarding the end of the State of Emergency (SoE), we provided flexibility to ensure no changes would impact you and your residents over the weekend. The SoE gave flexibility; however, without the SoE, we cannot waive statute.  The NH RSA 151:2; I(c)  requires a license for laboratories performing tests or analyses of human samples, collection stations, or laboratories performing testing on therapeutic cannabis pursuant to RSA 126-X:6, III(a)(16).

Effective immediately, if you wish to conduct COVID-19 testing for residents, staff or visitors you must complete an application for licensure.  Please contact  DHHS.hfaregcorrespondence@nh.gov  with any questions.

From Gina:

I have received numerous inquiries about the email sent out yesterday by Health Facilities Administration regarding COVID testing.  There is a lot of confusion about what impact this has on surveillance testing of staff who enter nursing homes, and testing of patients.   As of this morning, DHHS is working with its legal team to resolve the concerns.  There is a regularly scheduled Long Term Care call at 11:45 this morning, and DHHS hopes to have answers by then.  In addition, HFA will send out an email blast to all licensees.  Stay tuned!
