(Concord, NH, August 11, 2021): On August 11, 2021, the Merrimack County Commissioners adopted a policy which requires all employees of the Merrimack County Nursing Home and Gerrish Manor to be fully vaccinated by October 1, 2021.
“The policy was adopted to protect the health and safety of Nursing Home and Gerrish Manor employees, residents and visitors, as well as to expand protections to the community at large,” said Commission Chair Tara Reardon. She explained that the County “needs to protect residents from critical staffing shortages that could result from a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated staff.”
Consistent with federal and state law, the policy allows employees to seek an exemption if they have a health condition that would be adversely affected by the vaccine, or if they have sincerely held religious objections to being vaccinated.
Vaccines are available to Nursing Home and Gerrish Manor employees on-site or at local pharmacies, at no cost to the employees.
