Agencies who purchase the package of 5 recorded webinars have unlimited access to the recorded (on-demand) series to train their entire staff. Home Health 101: Orientation to Home Care and Compliance is a 5-part seminar that covers a broad range of topics that every home health staff member should know. Designed and presented by Colleen Pierro PT, MPA, COS-C, Alliance Director of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, this series is available digitally for the first time in an affordable and convenient package.

HH101 focuses on the importance of compliance with pertinent federal regulations, including Conditions of Participation (COPs) and Medicare regulations related to the state survey process. The COPs are reviewed in detail, as well as the home health eligibility criteria for certification: Face to Face, Homebound, Skilled Care, and “Under the Care of Physician” requirement. Throughout the webinar the COP standards and Medicare regulations related to the survey process are highlighted and the survey process is explained.

Pierro also stresses the importance of timely, complete and accurate documentation to reflect skill and medical necessity for compliance. Additionally, document requirements for home health aide supervision, and for the Medicare Patient Notices: Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN), Home Health Change of Care (HHCCN), Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage (NONMC) are reviewed.

The program is broken into five sections:

  • Part 1: Orientation to Home Health
  • Part 2: Conditions of Participation (CoPs)
  • Part 3: Patient Notices
  • Part 4: Conditions of Participation, Contin.
  • Part 5: Skilled Professional Services and HHA Services

The webinar also covers physician orders, comprehensive vs initial assessment patient rights, the patient abuse statute and reporting requirements and more
