The Granite State Health Care Coalition and NH DHHS are hosting two one-day educational FEMA training sessions on April 3rd and 4th. The same training will be held on each day. The course is designed to train health care providers and suppliers to achieve the four core elements in the September 2016 Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers Final Rule, also known as the CMS Rule.
We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to bring this needed training to New Hampshire and could not do so without the assistance of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. We thank NH DHHS for the use of their facility and their continued engagement with the Granite State Health Care Coalition!
PLEASE READ ALL SECTIONS CAREFULLY:
FEMA requires use of their registration system as this course is associated with a certificate. You will be required to use your current FEMA SID number or obtain a new number, if you do not already have one. The linked documents will walk you through the process on how to obtain those. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER WITHOUT A FEMA SID NUMBER.
The Healthcare Sector Emergency Preparedness Course (8 hours) will be the same 8 hour training held on two separate dates. This course is designed to provide training to healthcare providers and suppliers on the requirements of the new CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule. Please note space is limited to 150 participants per day. Do not delay in signing up if you have a need or interest. We try to think of this as a train-the-trainer opportunity, so feel free to take notes and bring this vital information back to your organization.

NH DHHS Auditorium, 29 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH. You will need to bring a picture ID, such as a driver’s license, to gain entry to the building.

Coffee will be provided in the morning, as well as water in the afternoon and a catered lunch. A bag lunch will be provided and will be an assortment of vegetarian and assorted meats in a wrap or bread with chips, cookie or fruit and canned drinks or water. The bagged lunches will be pre-made and marked. We are unable to guarantee a nut or gluten free environment. Please plan accordingly, if you have specific food requirements or allergies.

Access to building/Check-In
Parking can be a distance from the building so please plan accordingly. We do encourage carpooling as space is limited. There are handicapped spaces available but this is an active building so parking fills up quickly. If you cannot find parking in the front, please pull around back as there is additional parking there. Lunch will be held on a different floor and can be accessed either by stairs or elevator. As mentioned above, picture ID will be required as this is a secure building and access in and out is restricted. You will need to check-in at the registration table upon arrival in order to check-in and receive a name badge for the workshop. This desk will be in the main lobby, on the right hand side on both days. Please note if you need to seek re-entry, staff will need to let you back into the auditorium. Please dress in layers as we do not have temperature control access.

*The FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response’s Division of National Healthcare Preparedness Programs has developed a one-day, 8 hour Health Sector Emergency Preparedness Course.
The course is designed to provide training to health care providers and suppliers in the achievement of the four core elements outlined in the September 2016 Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers Final Rule. The CDP will provide this training in coordination with interested Health Care Coalitions (HCCs). Host responsibilities would consist of providing a classroom or auditorium capable of seating the expected audience, supporting recruitment of an appropriate audience from the 17 identified providers and suppliers, and providing a point of contact to coordinate the class with the CDP. Below are some of the critical skill sets learned during this training:
- Understand specific healthcare provider and supplier emergency preparedness requirements as outlined in the CMS Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers Rule.
- Develop knowledge and skill in achieving relevant emergency preparedness elements for your healthcare provider or supplier type. Recognize by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to include the advantages and disadvantages of each level
