Deb can share best practices and respond to your challenges in structuring groups to ensure a positive experience drawing on her twenty years of experience.

 

Objectives:

This webinar will describe the various types of effective bereavement support groups.

  • Determine the most effective group for your agency/ community.
  • Discuss tools to screen participants for closed grief groups.
  • Recruit and oversee volunteers as facilitators.
  • Achieve realistic goals while dealing with the challenges of group dynamics.

 

Continuing Education: 

The presenters and program planners have no conflict of interest regarding this webinar. RNs and LPNs must participate in the entire presentation for contact hours to be awarded.  To apply for nursing contact hours, please e-mail a typed list, and attach an evaluation form and a completed sign-in sheet, listing the individuals at your facility that participated and noting those requesting contact hours.

 

Individuals requesting contact hours will receive a certificate of contact hours earned. Please make sure that you enter the Contact Person’s name in the Registration Form. Presenter:

Deb Pelletier – Deborah Pelletier, MSW, served as the Bereavement Coordinator for Home Health & Hospice Care, Merrimack NH for over twenty years and maintains responsibility for the weekly and monthly grief groups offered by the program. The program has grown over the years to now host 9 – 10 closed groups annually as well as monthly sessions offered to the public with an average of 20 – 30 attendees. Deb also trains and supervises the many hospice volunteers who assist as facilitators of these groups. Prior to this role, she was the Social Worker on the agency’s Hospice Team.
