Pepper is not just a seasoning on the table anymore. PEPPER is an initiative by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is a reporting tool that allows home health agencies to look at their claims data statistics and benchmark to other agencies. PEPPER stands for Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report. The HHA PEPPER was specifically designed for home health agencies and made available in 2015. This dynamic tool is based on actual Medicare claims data and helps home health agencies to determine if its billing statistics may be at higher risk for improper Medicare Payments. Participants in this webinar will receive an understanding of the use and benefits of the PEPPER reports, and how they should be incorporated into agency practice management plans.

Faculty: Dave Macke, MBA, CHFP, FHFMA, is the Director of Reimbursement Services for VonLehman & Company, a regional CPA firm with offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky and Indianapolis, Indiana.  He is also a shareholder with the firm and has been with VonLehman for over 24 years.  He has over 35 years of healthcare finance experience.  He oversees the firm’s Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and reimbursement consulting practice working primarily with Home Health, Hospice and Hospital providers.  Dave is a member and Fellow (FHFMA) in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and a member of the National Association of Homecare and Hospice (NAHC) and the Homecare and Hospice Financial Managers Association (HHFMA) where he is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Financial Managers Workgroup. He is the chairperson of the HHFMA Payment and Reimbursement Committee and the Medicare Cost Report Committee.
