Job Description: The Homemaker recognizes the importance of their job and makes every effort to be dependable. The Homemaker is responsible for following work schedule and keeping demographics in mind when planning visits, reporting to work on time, no excessive absences, giving appropriate notice for absences. The Homemaker, guided by the individual plan of care, intervenes and observes the client's environment to promote comfort and cleanliness as well as improve/maintain safety. The Homemaker will use basic math skills to count out money and return correct change to patient when grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions or doing errands. The Homemaker is responsible for attending required meetings, following the individual plan of care, performing job duties well, using appropriate and safe techniques in homemaking to benefit the client as well as self, maintaining compliance with CVNA code of ethics and respects the client's bill of rights, completing mandatory OSHA in-services and reporting pertinent changes and concerns to supervisor. The Homemaker will adhere to agency policy and procedure. As an integral member of the health team, the Homemaker will seek suggestions to improve one's own practice as well as to accept responsibility and accountability for their own actions. The Homemaker will be supervised every 60 days by the Life Care Director or designated person, in the home or via phone call to client or guardian. The Homemaker must be trustworthy, have great communication, a positive attitude, treat everyone with respect and be able to identify their own learning needs and seek ways to meet those needs.
