Job Description: Duties and/or Responsibilities: The phlebotomist will accurately review records and necessary orders prior to obtaining blood and explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions about the process. They will also follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas. The phlebotomist will gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes to bring with them and will verify patient information and label blood samples properly. They will help nervous of frightened patients remain calm during blood draws. The phlebotomist will perform finger stick PT/INR's per agency protocol. Works with members of the health care team with Life Care and other departments to provide excellent care for clients. Keep accurate records and documents pertinent information via electronic medical records per protocol with clients according to the policies of CVNA. Interacts with family members and friends of the client/patient in a kind and courteous manner. Maintain and respect the dignity and privacy of each client/patient and meet all HIPAA requirements. Employee will comply with all policies and procedures of CVNA including maintaining a good attendance record, attending required meetings, protects and honors client confidentiality and adhering to company dress code. Qualifications Qualifications: Ability to represent Cornerstone VNA in a trusted and professional manner Strong communication skills High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Phlebotomy Certificate Ability to successfully draw blood from clients with minimal or no complications 1 year of Phlebotomy work experience preferred Positive attitude Ability to provide trusted, compassionate, and expert care Able to work independently under general direction Treat clients, their families & co-workers with respect Reliable Transportation - Driver's license in good standing and vehicle insurance are required
